How to create templates

Legrand CRM allows you to use templates for various purposes such as mail-merging, faxing, producing reports and printing. Create new templates and save them for future use to increase your team’s productivity. Go to the administration panel in Legrand CRM to create new templates or view existing templates. Under the header ‘Templates’ you can view Email Templates, Document Templates, Report Templates and Word Templates.

Email Templates

Legrand CRM enables you send emails to your contacts using email templates. To view existing or create a new email template, go to the administration panel in Legrand CRM and select ‘Email Templates‘.

Click ‘BROWSE’ to view existing e-Templates you have created. The e-Templates are typically stored in a network shared folder such as servername\LegrandCommon\DatabaseName\eTemplates.

To create a new email template, use the drop-down bar to select e-Merge codes then click on ‘INSERT MERGE CODE’. After you have created a template click ‘SAVE AS’. Type in a file name for the email template and save it in the shared e-Templates folder.

Document Templates

Legrand CRM enables you print or fax documents within the Contacts and Customer Service/Issues module. To view existing templates or create a new document template go to the administration panel in Legrand CRM and select ‘Document Templates’.

Use the drop-down bar to create document templates for either the Contacts module or Customer Service (Issues) module. The icons in the top-right enables you to create a new document template, rename, edit or delete templates.

Click the plus icon to create a new document template. Type in a name for the document template then click ‘Save’.

Once you save, a Legrand window will open which will enable you to create a custom document template.

In the new window, create your own custom document template using the various tools and merge codes. Once you have created your template click ‘Save’ and exit. You can now use the template for mail merges in Legrand CRM to save time and increase your team’s productivity.

Report Templates

Legrand CRM enables you print various information used for reporting purposes. To view existing reporting/printing templates or create a new template go to the administration panel in Legrand CRM and select ‘Report Templates’

Use the drop-down bar to create report templates for the following: Quotes module, Product Details, Product List, Product Quotes, Quotes List, Company, Activity Note, Contact Labels, Customer Service, Opportunity, Task, Calendar Event or Task List. The icons in the top-right enables you to create a new report/print template, duplicate, rename, edit, import, export or delete templates.

Once you select a report type click on the plus icon to create a new template. Type in a name for the report template then click ‘Save’.

Once you save, a Legrand window will open which will enable you to create a custom report template.

In the new window, you can create your own custom report template using various tools and merge codes. Once you have created your report template click ‘Save’ and exit. You can now use the report template for your business reporting activities.

Word Templates

Legrand CRM integrates with Microsoft which enables you load existing Word document templates into your CRM database. The Word templates are typically used for the function ‘Word Mail Merge’ in Legrand CRM. If you use the mail-merge function, click ‘BROWSE’ and select the Word template from the path location you saved it in. The Word templates can be stored in a network shared folder. For example: servername\LegrandCommon\DatabaseName\Templates.

However, the templates can be stored entirely separate.
To view or edit Word document templates, go to the administration panel in Legrand CRM and select ‘Word Templates’.

In the ‘Edit Word Templates’ window click ‘BROWSE’.

In the demonstration, the templates are stored within a shared folder on the network. From here you can create new Word documents or edit existing Word document templates.
